Composition: composer, arranger, copyist. New music enthusiast, specializing in works for mixed ensembles, improvised music, and the intersection of music and social change.

Guitar: performer, composer, accompanist. Specializing in traditions involving nylon string guitar, period practices, and progressive musical ethics.

Education

• Cornish College of the Arts– September 2013- June 2014. Studied composition with Emily Doolittle and Jim Knapp, classical guitar with Michael Nicolella, general music curriculum.

• The Evergreen State College– September 2007-2011. Bachelors of the Arts in Music, emphasis in composition and guitar performance. During this time I also served as a Music Department Assistant.

Regular Engagements- Guitar

• Bissou Bissou- cabaret jazz trio.

• Tuesday Tease– a monthly progressive dance show.

• The Ancient Present– chamber ensemble performing original compositions.

• Correo Aero- a vocal Latin/World Music ensemble

• Solo guitar.

• Guitars, electric bass, mandolin, banjo, ukelele beginning piano, vocal coaching, harmony, rhythm, ear training.

Notable Performances

• December 18, 2014- Premiered “No Matter,” a work for chamber orchestra and singer, with the Seattle Rock Orchestra.

• June 28^th, 2014- Opened with La Gua Genial guitar quintet for Pepe Mota, Paulina Fain, Pablo Aslan, Ramiro Gallo, Julian Hasse, and Adam Tully. Eliot Chapel, Portland, OR.

• February 28^th, 2014- Debut of “The Ancient Present,” a chamber ensemble performing original pieces and arrangements. Accompanied Dawn Clement in my arrangement of selections from “Tempest/Cobalt” for strings, bass clarinet and electric guitar.

• August 2013- Tour with Ruth de Vincenzo (BsAs.) in Las Guitaras Negras, performing Golden-Era tangos.

• June 2011- “Cage the Elephant” at the SfCaNM- a piece for 8 microphones, speakers, Max/MSP and audience.

• I have been performing since 2004 in styles including classical, jazz, rock, tango, improvised, and experimental music throughout the United States, Canada, Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Bolivia. A full list can be found at http://michaudsavage.com.

Arts Administration

• “The Seattle Composers Alliance”- Board member since January 2013. Managed event production teams, sat on the website committee, social media committee.

• “The Ancient Present”- September 2013- Present. This is the chamber ensemble I organize and manage, performing original works. Includes rehearsal and performance scheduling, in additional to technical musical demands.
