Education-
On Music
I love teaching music; by which I mean by that I provide knowledge and tools for a person to develop their musical skills. I find a personalized approach for each student to understanding and developing with their instrument and the musical elements at hand. That said, sometimes there is a well-worn path that leads most directly to desired results, and so in that case we’ll take that one. For whichever person is seeking a further understanding of music, I hope to always be able to provide some useful insight for their own musical journey.

Lessons
I teach guitar, voice, and ukulele lessons for learners at all levels, and offer beginning to intermediate piano lessons. I require that students maintain a regular lesson schedule. In my experience, this helps the student focus and deepen in their learning much more quickly and effectively. Single lessons are available at at a rate of $75-$125 for a 55 minute lesson. It is important to note that no one will be turned away for a lack of funds, and I have chosen this sliding scale model to enable me to provide scholarships to students I work with in underserved communities. Note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and people being stuck in their homes and desperately trying to not to lose their minds, I am more flexible than usual with my rates. $75-$125 is the suggested price range for students, but if you would really like to learn what I have to teach then I will do what I can to make a sustainable arrangement for us both.
Discounted package options are available in 4-week sections. Contact me via email at michaud.savage@gmail.com for more information.
Learning
I believe that perfect practice makes perfect, but also that improvisation is the platform on which all musical identity is formed; that said, you will only get better through time with your instrument, whatever it may be. In regards to practice, I’ve found 3 essential building blocks for every musician; regular practice, focused practice, and play. These 3 things are the foundation of my curriculum and I have found that those who practice this excel steadily and surely in their music.
